Teaching Kids Art Through Picture Books

10 days until Christmas! Here are a few ideas for helping kids creatively prepare for the day, without too much extra prep. Counting down from 10....

♾️10-Make a paper chain with strips of construction paper. Pull off one strip each day until Christmas. 

🎶9-Teach your kids the words to your favorite Christmas carol. Sing it every night before bed until Christmas comes.

📖8-Stop whatever you are doing and read a Christmas story to your kids. Breathe slowly and savor the moment. 

🐻‍❄️7-Draw polar bears 

🕯️6-Create a candleholder. Get an empty jar. With Mod Podge, decoupage tissue all over the jar. When dry, light a tealight and place it inside. Talk about the all the symbols of Light at Christmas.

🎄5-Make homemade cards for grandparents, neighbors, or anyone who needs encouragement

🍪4-Make and decorate sugar cookies

🎁3-Teach your kids how to wrap presents
