Welcome-it's nice to meet you!
Hi! I'm Jennifer Woodard. After getting my bachelor's degree in elementary education, I began teaching elementary school and quickly found that one of my favorite parts about teaching kids was creating lessons that linked reading and art projects. When I became a parent, I continued my teaching career in homeschooling our five children, as well as in teaching art at church and in our homeschool coop, where I developed art projects and taught over 300 children throughout the last two decades. I am passionate about encouraging your child's natural love of creating.
I started Storygalorey as an unhurried and gentle space for a new generation of children to imagine, discover, and create; and for parents to get support in providing wholesome educational activities for children. I exist to cultivate children's creativity and literacy through story-based art for the glory of God. That means I believe art should bring beauty to the world, have a positive message, and not exist for it's own sake. I read stories that help children laugh. I want them to recognize goodness and beauty. I think reading great picture books and doing art projects is like opening a door to a new world to children.
When I'm not reading or creating, my favorite things include spending time with our kids and grandkids, eating popcorn, walking in the country, and traveling.
